Chairman
Klaus Kiefer
Fraunhofer ISE, Freiburg, Germany
Klaus Kiefer studied Electrical Engineering (Power Engineering) at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences.
He has worked at Fraunhofer ISE in the field of Applied Photovoltaics since 1987. He currently heads the “Quality Assurance PV Modules and Systems” Department, which is comprised of approximately 50 employees (doctoral students, scientists, engineers and technicians). The department specializes in quality assurance of photovoltaic power plants on a global scale. More specifically, the department focuses on yield assessments, as well as PV system inspections and monitoring. In addition, the calibration laboratory for the precision measurement of solar modules (CalLab Module) has been a part of his department since 2001. It is considered to be one of the world’s leading measurement labs.
