Chairmen's Message
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
I cordially invite you to join our conference on Thin-Film Photovoltaics, which will take place for the third time and will be held at NH Hotel München-Dornach, Germany on June 7th, 2011.
There are many conferences around Photovoltaic (PV) thin-film technologies simply because there is a fast-growing industry backing them. Thin-film PV is expected to have a market share of around 30 % in the very near future.
But what is so special about this particular conference on Thin-Film Photovoltaics? Our special focus is on the practical experience of the new modules in the field. We bring together experts and newcomers with backgrounds in academics, technology development, solar module production, application in systems or even in the financial sector. Thus, you will find new information about modules, system, components, and practical experience, expertly presented on June 7th in Munich. The success of the conference relies on the intensive dialogue of developers and producers with system designers and users.
The event will be held in English inviting speakers and guests from abroad to contribute their experience about international developments and markets. You will learn about new products and future trends of thin-film silicon and compound semiconductor technologies (a-Si, a-Si/ μc-Si, thin c-Si, CdTe and CIGS). Reports of real-life experience with specific systems will be of great practical relevance. Besides technical approaches, economic aspects will also be discussed.
As a participant and expert on specific topics you are welcome to contribute to the programme with a lecture or a poster (see submission information).
After the conference you will have the chance to get a great overview and first-hand information by visiting the exhibition Intersolar Europe in Munich, where companies present their newest products.
I’m looking forward to seeing you in Munich!
Michael Powalla
Contents
The globalisation of the PV market and the enormous reduction of prices worldwide is a challenge especially for new products and new market players.
- How can PV thin-film modules contribute to the market in view of customer value and cost-cutting potential?
- Do thin-film techniques provide practicable and low-cost solutions for open-field applications and building-integrated systems?
- Is there sufficient application experience available to forecast safe and stable yields?
Materials scientists, production engineers and developers from well-known institutes and companies will answer these questions competently.
Call for Papers
Topics of the Conference
Papers are invited on the following topics:
1. Thin-film modules (materials, production technologies, properties, manufacturers)
2. Systems (components, design)
3. Applications (facilities dimensioning, operating experiences, building integration)
4. Measurement data logging, model development
Submission of abstracts
With the acceptance of your abstract (max. 2 pages per pdf) by the scientific committee you are automatically registered for the conference (reduced conference fee: € 295,00). The scientifi c committee will compile the program. The decision about the lectures and posters will be made by March. It is not possible to cancel once accepted.
How to submit your abstract
1. Please submit your abstract via internet at review.otti.eu
(or www.otti.de – „OTTI-Portal“ – „review-system“)
2. Choose the item „registration“ in the review-system
3. Define your username and password
4. Log into the review-system and click „add abstract“
5. Choose the conference, accept the conditions of participation, define the focus and upload your abstract (max. 2 pages per pdf)
6. Content of submission should be technical or scientifi c (no company presentation, manufacturer-neutral)
Deadline for the submission of abstracts:
January 14th, 2011
Your Advantage
- Figures, facts about the state of the art and potentials of the three relevant thin-fi lm technologies: cadmium-telluride (CdTe), copperindium- diselenide (CIS), amorphous and/or microcrystalline silicon (a/μc-Si).
- The essential thin-film PV module manufacturers and experts with practical experience in planning, designing and running thin-film PV generators will present new highlights.
- Participant-orientated discussion forums and a communicationfriendly number of participants guarantee opportunities to find answers to your questions.
- During breaks and meals you can compare notes with speakers, experts and other participants.
